The Ontario government is investing more than $466,000 in public transit services across Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke through its 2025-26 Gas Tax program.
The breakdown of funding is as follows:
Town of Arnprior $27,713
Town of Petawawa $74,546
City of Pembroke $118,783 (Laurentian Valley)
Town of Renfrew $245,313 (Admaston/Bromley, Bonnechere Valley, Greater Madawaska, Horton, Whitewater Region)
The funding is aimed at helping municipalities expand service hours, increase routes, purchase vehicles and improve accessibility to boost ridership. Allocations include support for Arnprior, Petawawa, Pembroke and Renfrew, with the largest share directed to regional transit partnerships.
Local MPP Billy Denault says the investment will help ensure residents have access to reliable and safe transportation options. The province says nearly $380 million is being distributed to 107 municipalities under the program.
