The owner of a local dental hygiene company is urging residents to take their oral health seriously.
April 4th to 10th is National Dental Hygienists Week and April is National Oral Health Month.
Dez Bair-Patel, the owner and office manager at Apx Dental Hygiene in Pembroke, said the occasion is an opportunity to build a sense of awareness and community between people in town and the independent registered dental hygienist working at his company.
Patel urges people to take care of their oral health, as it’s important to every other aspect of your body.
He also explained that Apx Dental Hygiene offers some state-of-the-art technology for ensuring patients get the treatment they need, including a specialized piece of equipment that has its origins in Switzerland.
Patel urged anyone who hasn’t visited a dentist or dental hygienist in a long time, for whatever reason, to consider booking an appointment.
For anyone concerned about the cost of dental care, Patel recommended looking into the Canadian Dental Care Plan for financial assistance.
