The public is being advised that prescribed burning will take place in select areas of Garrison Petawawa’s range and training area over the coming months.
Officials say the controlled burns will be carried out by the Garrison Petawawa Fire Department as part of efforts to reduce fire hazards ahead of the summer season.
Residents in the surrounding area may see or smell smoke during the operations, which are expected to continue for up to three months. Air quality could be affected for short periods.
Officials say there is no cause for concern, noting the burns will be conducted under the supervision of trained firefighters.
