Renfrew Victoria Hospital is turning to a symbol of hope and renewal for its next fundraising campaign.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough says their “Blooming in Honour, Growing in Hope” program is all about recognizing April as Cancer Awareness Month, something that has long been a priority for the hospital with a wide variety of initiatives supporting the cause, including the now-famous Daffodil Dance of years past.
For the month of April, community members can make a $20 donation to the hospital foundation and get the chance to dedicate a daffodil to a loved one. That money will go directly back into the hospital’s diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer.
Dillabough adds that the flowers will not just be left aside once purchased but will bloom prominently as one of the first things that many people who drop by every day will see while entering the facility.
Donors can buy one or multiple daffodils if they have more than one person they would like to make a dedication to, either through the RVH Foundation website, by visiting the foundation’s office on the first floor of the building, or by calling 613-432-4851 ext. 263, 312, 276, or 868.
