In a memorandum issued late last week, it’s announced that changes are underway at Garrison Petawawa as the garrison works to strengthen local security measures in the weeks and months ahead. These upgrades will be implemented gradually as part of a phased, long-term plan consistent with national and international standards.
The updates will enhance the visibility of boundaries and perimeters, helping safeguard personnel, infrastructure, equipment, information, and operations across the Garrison. The changes align with practices in other federal institutions, as well as standards followed by NATO Allies and international partners.
As a result, movement within certain areas—including access points and traffic flow—will be adjusted to support ongoing security priorities.
The Garrison thanks Defence Team members, community partners, and the public for their continued support and cooperation during this transition. Protecting personnel and facilities is a shared responsibility, officials say—one that benefits everyone.
