The Pembroke Lumber Kings wrapped up a difficult season by recognizing individual achievements, handing out their year-end awards on St. Patrick’s Day as players and staff look ahead to a fresh start next year.
Head coaches Gerry LeBlanc and Joe Arruda presented the honours before the team dispersed for the off-season.
Maxim Delâge received the Jim Farelli Memorial Award as the coaches’ unsung hero, while William Lobanov was named best defensive player, earning the Anne Cochrane Memorial Award.
Solomon Tucker picked up the Gerry and Herb Edwards Award for dedication and commitment, and Ryan Turner was recognized as the team’s leading scorer with the Terry O’Neill Award.
Chris Clarke earned the Dr. Terry Olsheski Award as most valuable player and shared the Molson Cup three-star honour with Jack Ferguson, who also received the Fred Murphy Award.
Evan Greco was awarded the Ben Reinhardt Trophy for sportsmanship and ability, while Simon Kobylecki was named hometown hero.
Will Ryan, absent from the ceremony, was named rookie of the year, and Maureen Duhamel was recognized as volunteer of the year.
