Our local health unit is helping bring students up to date on their vaccinations ahead of an important deadline.
The Renfrew County District Health Unit is offering a series of school immunization catch-up clinics across the Ottawa Valley for the rest of March, providing free, routine immunizations against preventable diseases that are required for kids to attend class.
Parents who received a notice from the RCDHU about missing vaccinations in their child’s records are encouraged to book an appointment through the health unit’s website or their health care provider. Students whose records are not updated by April 15th face possible suspension from school until they are caught up.
The RCDHU also provides assistance to those facing barriers to getting vaccinated, such as transportation challenges, difficulty accessing a provider, or technology issues at 613‑732‑9436 or 1‑833‑773‑0004.
