A Pembroke man is facing multiple charges after police investigated an alleged breach of bail conditions earlier this week.
Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police’s Upper Ottawa Valley detachment say they responded to a residence in Pembroke at about 4 p.m. Wednesday following a report that bail conditions were being violated.
Police say officers found a discarded and damaged GPS ankle monitor at the residence.
About 30 minutes later, officers located and arrested a suspect in connection with the investigation. During the arrest, police say brass knuckles were seized.
As a result, a 38-year-old man living in Pembroke has been charged with mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and four counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The man was held for a bail hearing and remained in custody pending a court appearance scheduled for March 26 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
