A Renfrew resident is six figures richer thanks to the latest lottery win in the Ottawa Valley.
OLG, Ontario’s lottery authority, says Wade Fraser matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order during the January 31st LOTTARIO draw, winning $100,000 in the process.
Fraser, a 66-year-old truck driver, says he’s been playing the lottery since he was old enough to buy a ticket and has been doing so more frequently over the past few years.
“I went to the store and headed over to the ticket checker to scan two tickets,” Wade shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “The first one I scanned wasn’t a winner, but the second sure was! When I saw all those zeros, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! It took some time for the win to sink in, and even now, it doesn’t fully feel real.”
He plans to make some investments and save for the future with his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Tiger on O’Brien Road in Renfrew.
