The City of Pembroke and the Township of Laurentian Valley are collaborating to explore options for a potential joint community sportsplex. To support the early stages of this project, the municipalities have engaged Milestone Scheduling & Consulting to guide the process, ensuring thorough due diligence and helping build a solid foundation for future development.
Milestone’s work has included reviewing key documents such as building condition assessments and parks & recreation master plans, evaluating critical equipment, creating an inventory of sports fields and rental halls, and developing a systematic approach for selecting the optimal location for a new facility.
The next step will involve engaging the community through a preliminary survey to gather input and guide the Phase 1 planning. Following this, Milestone will finalize deliverables including a vision statement, project charter, and scope of work for the research phase, culminating in a presentation to municipal councils.
Residents and community stakeholders are encouraged to complete the survey online at the City of Pembroke’s Community Engagement Platform: www.engagepembroke.ca. The survey will be open for one month, from February 23 to March 23, 2026.
