A Whitewater Region man is facing multiple charges following an impaired driving investigation in Petawawa.
On March 2, 2026, around 8 p.m., officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Petawawa Boulevard as part of the RIDE program. An impaired driving investigation led to the driver being taken into custody for testing.
Thirty-two-year-old Stephan Murphy of Whitewater Region has been charged with operation while impaired, operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg, driving without a valid rear light, driving without a valid permit, and two counts of breaching a Provincial Offences Act probation order.
Murphy’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 20, 2026.
