The Ontario government is investing $531,187 to support road improvements in the Madawaska Valley through its 2026-27 Connecting Links program.
The funding will allow the township to resurface Opeongo Line, a key transportation corridor that supports local traffic and commercial activity. The program helps municipalities maintain critical roads and bridges that connect to provincial highways.
The project was one of 21 approved across Ontario, selected from 20 municipalities. Officials say the investment will enhance safety, improve reliability for drivers and support economic activity in the region.
