Provincial Constable Bob Fitzgerald has been named the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment’s Member of the Year for 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police announced.
Fitzgerald was selected for the honour by his peers and co-workers in recognition of what the detachment described as his exceptional impact and dedication over the past year.
In a news release, the OPP said Fitzgerald exemplifies the organization’s values of serving with pride, professionalism and honour. His interactions with the public and colleagues have been marked by respect, compassion and fairness, the release said.
The detachment also cited Fitzgerald’s leadership, integrity and commitment to teamwork, noting he was voted by fellow officers as the member who made the most significant impact within the unit.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment Commander acting Insp. Sarah Darraugh praised Fitzgerald’s contributions.
“Cst. Fitzgerald’s contributions are not only acknowledged but deeply appreciated,” Darraugh said in a statement. “Thank you, Bob, for your exceptional dedication, teamwork and service.”
