A 65-year-old Cobden resident is facing impaired driving charges following an incident in Mississippi Mills Township earlier this week.
Ontario Provincial Police say an off-duty officer observed a vehicle being driven in a manner that raised concerns on County Road 29 on Wednesday, Feb. 4. On-duty officers were called to the area and located the vehicle shortly thereafter.
The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment in Carleton Place for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Heather Dick has been charged with operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 milligrams, and operation while impaired — alcohol.
Police say the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 16.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days under Ontario’s administrative driver’s licence suspension program, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
