Back in the day veterans in overseas theatres of war would receive letters from random folks at home to help them maintain morale.
In 2026 the tradition continues with the Valentines for Vets program, operated by Veterans Affairs Canada.
The department encourages you to give valentines to Veterans or Canadian Armed Forces members you know or who live in your community.
You can also send your handmade valentines to Veterans Affairs who will distribute them to Veterans across Canada.
