The Town of Petawawa is looking into improving its public transportation services, and it wants input from residents regarding the changes they want to see.
The town is conducting a public transportation feasibility study using provincial grant money to assess the need for a public transit system in the community.
According to the town website, the study will explore opportunities for local transit services within town limits, accommodating population and tourism growth within Petawawa and the costing, design and implementation strategies required for any recommended systems.
Any transit system that does get established will reportedly build upon existing options within the community, including local taxi services and the Petawawa Local Community Transportation Program operated by Carefor.
An in-person engagement event for residents to share their input is being held at the Petawawa Public Library on Wednesday, February 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The town is also running a survey until Sunday, February 15th. The survey is available online here, and paper copies are also available at the Petawawa Public Library.
