Cobden residents can finally turn down the stovetop burners as the Township of Whitewater Region has lifted a boil water advisory put into effect on Jan. 23 as result of a water main break within the village.
Water samples have been taken by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) and analyzed at a third-party lab.
Results show the water has no contaminants and is safe to drink.
However, before residents go back to the tap, the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has some suggestions to ensure tap water is fully safe.
First, they recommend running cold water from drinking sources for around one minute.
They also recommend running water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
If locals have any questions the Township is accepting calls at 613 646 2282 (Option 5) Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
