Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ottawa Traffic Incident Management Enforcement unit carried out a commercial motor vehicle safety initiative in Pembroke and Laurentian Valley.
On Jan. 22, officers stopped 12 CMVs and completed two level-one inspections.
The operation resulted in 23 charges, including obstructed plates, invalid permits, defective brakes, and driving under suspension.
Two vehicles were placed out of service and three towed.
