A Quebec resident has been charged with impaired driving after a minor collision in North Algona Wilberforce Township. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they were called Saturday evening (Jan 17) about a vehicle in the ditch on Mink Lake Road. The driver was not hurt and the vehicle didn’t sustain any significant damage. However, officers on the scene utilized the Roadside Screening Device. As a result, the driver was taken back to the detachment for further testing and charged with impaired driving and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80. A 37-year-old resident of Fort Coulonge has had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. They were released on a promise to appear in court next month.
