School buses across the Ottawa Valley are being told to stay home this morning ahead of a large blanket of snow expected to touch down locally later today.
Environment Canada’s initial forecast had called for 15 to 25 centimetres of snow starting last night, however some parts of the Valley reportedly received far less than anticipated.
That heavy snowfall is expected to pick up today before tapering off this evening, creating reduced visibility and rapidly deteriorating travel conditions at times.
The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has cancelled all buses for today. All schools remain open.
