Pembroke residents looking for medical attention are being urged to avoid the local hospital’s emergency department if their care needs aren’t urgent today.
Pembroke Regional Hospital has issued a notice to residents via Facebook explaining that patients in the emergency department may experience longer-than-usual wait times due to a physician shortage.
Individual wait times will vary from patient to patient depending on their conditions.
Patients who don’t require emergency care are urged to contact their primary care provider.
Those who don’t have a family physician or who aren’t able to access their primary care provider can call the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre at 1-844-727-6404.
