Valley Transportation has stepped up to the plate yet again with a $5,000 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Greg Sandrelli is the Regional Manager of Valley Transportation, and he says this year marks the 17th year that he and the drivers have donated money directly from their own paycheques to the cause. The company matched the drivers’ contributions dollar for dollar, as it has done every year, helping make the campaign the success it continues to be.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980, inspired by the wish of 7-year-old Chris Greicius, who was living with a terminal illness and dreamed of becoming a police officer. When his community came together to make that wish come true, it sparked a movement that led to the creation of an organization dedicated to granting life-changing wishes that bring hope, strength and resilience to children facing critical illnesses.
Greg says he represents more than 100 drivers who participated in this year’s effort, where the minimum donation was set at $5, with no limit on how much individuals chose to give.
Greg’s message to his team is as heartfelt as the time and energy that he and the entire organization have put into this year’s drive:
Greg says they will be back again next year to do it all over again.
