The Starter Company Plus fall business training program has wrapped up with six small businesses receiving grant funding. Organizers say the fast-track program provides intensive training for entrepreneurs preparing to launch new ventures, as well as owners of businesses that have been operating for five years or less.
Enterprise Renfrew County, along with program sponsor Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation, is welcoming a new group of businesses into the Starter Company Plus alumni. Officials say a total of $30,000 in grant funding was awarded to participating entrepreneurs through the program.

Starter Company Plus offers participants three months of business coaching, mentoring, and guidance from professional trainers, including help with business plans and cash flow projections. At the program’s conclusion, entrepreneurs have the chance to pitch their plans and compete for non-repayable grants of up to $5,000 to support their business operations.
