Brandon Richardson’s dismissal as Head Coach of The Pembroke Lumber Kings has prompted officials from the CCHL to respond to allegations of wrongdoing made by Richardson earlier this week.
CCHL Commissioner Jesse Winchester, said in a statement to myFM today:
“The Central Canada Hockey League is aware of concerns raised regarding the operations of one of our member clubs. We take all matters related to player safety, team management, and league compliance extremely seriously.
We are working diligently to ensure that Pembroke is a safe place for players to play and that all maltreatment concerns are addressed appropriately through the Independent Third Party process. The Central Canada Hockey League does not have the authority to intervene or comment on any ongoing independent maltreatment complaint processes.
An ITP adjudicator has recently ordered the public communication of sanctions involving Alex Armstrong on Hockey Eastern Ontario’s website.
Lastly, the CCHL does not have the authority to comment on or intervene in member club operational matters….”
Armstrong has so far not made any comment.
