‘Jamie’s Studio’, formerly known as The Suite, has been renamed after Jamie Bramburger.
Bramburger passed away on March 11th and the name change will honour his memory.
Jamie’s Studio, located at the north/west side of the building in the Activity Room of the PMC, has served as a room for many hockey enthusiasts to watch the Pembroke Lumber Kings. It had also been utilized by Bramburger for different ceremonies and events in the building.
The room has seen significant upgrades and changes because of donations made, and now displays some of Bramburger’s memorabilia including three framed jerseys: the 2011 Dupuis game worn jersey during the RBC Cup, a Gale Linton jersey and a hockey town Bramburger Lumber Kings jersey.
Bramburger is remembered as a polished community leader who was known in some circles as ‘Mr. Pembroke’, ‘Mr. Ottawa Valley’, ‘Mr. Algonquin College’ and ‘Mr. Radio and Television’. During Hockey Night in Canada shortly after his passing, Ron MacLean said “I cannot tell you how many folks in Pembroke are just shattered. Jamie’s just 58 years old. There isn’t a circle of life in the Pembroke area that he’s not connected with. Every hundred years or so, Jamie, a Pembroke Peach, comes along and that is you. The sweetest statesman.”
Mayor Gervais says the addition of Jamie’s Studio in the PMC will showcase his legacy for years to come and honour what Jamie did and meant to our community. Council approved the name change unanimously.
The room will be available for rentals.
