Fire Prevention Week 2025 kicks off this Saturday October 4th and runs through Saturday the 11th and Pembroke Fire Chief Scott Selle is gearing up to spread the word with a busy week long schedule.
This year’s theme is C-H-A-R-G-E and focuses on the safe use and storage of lithium ion batteries. Selle and his Team will be setting up booths at various locations throughout the city where they will be accepting used batteries for recycling as well as answering any questions folks may have concerning fire safety.
The first stop for Selle and his Team will be the Pembroke Public Library on Saturday the 4th where they will be sharing a fire prevention story with the reading group at 11AM where everyone is welcome to take part. The Chief will also be visiting various schools as he does every year to talk about fire prevention and safe battery use as an add on this year.
The official kick off to the week will take place at The Lumber Kings game at the PMC this Sunday night October 5th. The week will wind down on Saturday the 11th with an Open House at The Fire Hall at 200 International Drive from 11AM to 2PM.
