Community members are hoping to rally around a Quadeville family in need of support.
Amber Jessup, a neighbour from nearby Palmer Rapids, is working with local residents and businesses from the neighbouring villages to put on the Benefit for Maya, a fundraiser that will prepare a trust fund for the young girl who was left with life-threatening injuries after being attacked back in July.
Guests are welcome to join the festivities in Palmer Rapids on Saturday, September 20th, which will include ball tournaments at the public school, plus live music from local entertainers at the BLR Community Centre, a free poutine lunch from the local fire department, a catered dinner and dance, an all-day raffle, a beer garden, and more.
Jessup says the community has already made a massive impact even before the day’s first pitch at the ball diamonds.
All of the events and offerings are being donated by the larger community, something Jessup says shows just how eager people living in the Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan area are to show their support after the attack left the community shocked and at a loss as to what they could do that would provide the best possible future for Maya.
Tickets for the dinner and the dance are on sale right now, with the full details on where to get yours on their Facebook page. Tickets can also be bought by e-transfer.
