The Pembroke Carefor Community Garden has received a generous donation of plants from the Pembroke Horticultural Society, following their recent plant sale. Over the weekend, dedicated community garden member volunteers gathered to plant the remaining vegetables and flowers in the garden beds and large land plot now dedicated to supporting the St. Joseph Food Bank.
This donation will significantly enhance the garden’s ability to provide fresh, healthy produce to those in need. The community garden now boasts six raised beds and a large land garden, all focused on helping the food bank serve local families.
Community Garden Co-Chair Brian Abdallah expressed his gratitude to the Horticultural Society, stating, “Pembroke’s volunteers are the best, giving countless hours of talent, energy and compassion in making our community a better place to live. The Pembroke Horticultural Society is a classic example of such volunteers and we have heartfelt thanks for all that they do.” Abdallah also commended the Society for their ongoing work in beautifying the city, notably through the Pembroke Waterfront gardens, arboretum, and Pansy Patch Park.
The Pembroke Carefor Community Garden and St. Joseph Food Bank extend their sincere thanks to the Pembroke Horticultural Society for their continued support and dedication to the community.
