The 3rd annual “Run For Home” is right around the corner and again this year there will be a 2K, 5K and 10K run.
Run For Home 2025 is more than a race—it’s a chance to help transform local healthcare. All funds will support the $2.5 million Closer To Home campaign to outfit the new 96-bed long-term care facility, Four Seasons Lodge. Once complete, it will reduce wait times, create 200 jobs, and generate $5 million in wages for our community.
Megan Jones, Events and Fundraising Assistant for Deep River and District Health emphasizes that you don’t need to be a marathon runner to come out and take part if this years event:
The event is much more than just a run, says Jones, as there are all sorts of activities for non runners and especially for the kids:
Just to keep things fresh there are a couple of new additions added to the mix for those who are looking for a tasty treat while they enjoy the day:
When registering online there is a fee of $25 which will reserve a T shirt size for you ahead of time. Last year saw over 300 participants so Megan is hoping that more will come out for this really worth cause:
The event takes place on Saturday June 28th and starts at 8:00AM and goes roughly until 12:30PM. Go to drdhfoundation.com/runforhome. Everyone who participates is entered into a draw for amazing prizes and the more pledges you collect the more times you are entered into the draw. See you there!
