Chela Breckon has a long title but a really short simple message to send this weekend.
She is the Executive Director of the Renfrew County Community Poverty Action Network or CPAN, and she wants you to go to Tim Hortons and buy a Smile Cookie. Why? Because her organization receives almost all of its annual funding from the sale of these cookies from Pembroke and Cobden Tim Hortons. In fact 100% of the sales of these delicious treats goes directly to helping needy children in the region. And time is running out. In Breckon’s own words:
CPAN has been operating in Renfrew County for about 20 years and in that time they have been known to carry out such fundraising efforts as “Tools for Schools” providing supplies and footwear for kids and “Operation Snowsuit” keeping kids warm and toasty throughout the long winter months.
The Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign ends this Sunday so please hurry to get yours and help make a difference for local folks in need. To learn more about CPAN please head to their website at www.renfrewcountycpan.ca
