The Pembroke Fire Department isn’t always fighting blazes. Sometimes they’re spearheading community initiatives like coming up with catchy slogans for the Fire Department and what better place to look than the local elementary schools in the region.
Recently The Department looked to school kids in the area to come up with new slogans which will appear on Department vehicles. The two winning slogans are:
“The burning question is, are you prepared?” sent in by Alexa and “Be in the clear. Change your batteries twice a year.” sent in by Oliver. Both students attend Our Lady of Lourdes School. Chief Selle had this to say about the contest:
The winners were treated to a visit to the Fire Hall where they were suited up in fire gear and treated to a ride along with fire fighters among other fun activities.
Chief Selle points out that without the support of the schools things like this would not be possible.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone everyone who submitted a slogan!
