The new year is starting off with some wintry weather in our region.
Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for all areas of Renfrew County Jan. 1.
Weather experts say to expect locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of seven to 14 cm. Reduced visibility can be expected at times in the heavy snow, today into tonight with the heaviest snowfall today.
The snow is expected to continue today before tapering to a few flurries late tonight or early Thursday morning.
“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas,” reads the alert.
