Winter weather can be incredibly unpredictable. Slippery or snow-covered roads, reduced visibility and bitter cold can make driving difficult and potentially dangerous.
Now that the wintry weather is upon us, drivers should ensure they are prepared for emergencies.
The Renfrew Fire Department took to social media with a list of 10 items you should have in your car in case of emergency.
These include:
- Non-perishable food and water;
- At least half a tank of gas;
- Snow brush and ice scraper;
- Salt, sand or kitty litter;
- Extra windshield washer fluid;
- Winter-appropriate clothing;
- Warm blanket;
- Flashlight and extra batteries;
- Jumper cables;
- Phone charger.
