Lorraine Elizabeth Murphy Member of Cathedral CWL and the Pembroke Regional Hospital Auxiliary Former co–owner of the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke. Passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Hospital–General Campus, with her family by her side, in the early hours of Monday October 7, 2024 at the age of 87 years. Lorraine Murphy (nee Parizeau) of Pembroke, beloved wife (sweetheart) of Gene Murphy. Dearly loved and cherished mother of Christine Murphy, Ottawa, Ann Murphy, Collingwood, Michael Murphy (Laurie), Pembroke and Melanie Wetmore (Michael), Ottawa. Loving grandmother of Sean Kennedy (Melody), Adam (Rachel), Steven (Jenn) and Josh (Carrie) Murphy and Alex (Dev), Jason Wetmore and Katie Lazdins (Arty). Great grandmother of Austin, Sophie, Brie, Levi, Dylan, Jovie, Rowan and Finley. Lorraine is predeceased by her sisters Flora Munroe, Jeanette Doherty and her brothers Hector, Rene and Donald Parizeau. Daughter of the late Calixte and Ida (nee St. Jules)Parizeau.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Lorraine with her family during a visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Friday October 11th 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday October 12th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke. Following cremation, Interment will be held at a later date in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Bancroft, Ontario.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lorraine’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or the Pembroke Food Bank. Lorraine’s kind hearted spirit always ensured those around her experiencing difficulties received her infamous food baskets.
