Even the Canadian Armed Forces need the chance to hone their skills.
Reserve soldiers from the 33rd Canadian Brigade Group will be using local roads and trails between Ottawa and Petawawa to perform routine off-road vehicle training for the rest of the month.
The public may see an increased number of army vehicles on area roads and trials, including the Algonquin Trail, following pre-planned routes through Renfrew and Cobden from now until August 30th.
Personnel will be conducting planned stops throughout the exercise, making stops for rest, fuel, maintenance, and other critical training that will support their year-round readiness to deploy when emergencies and natural disasters strike in Canadian communities.
The army is taking measures to minimize the inconvenience to Ottawa Valley residents and visitors during the exercise, and the public is asked to take extra caution when approaching military convoys taking part.
