The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment has charged a driver with impaired operation following a collision in Chalk River. On August 12, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a crash on Main Street. The driver, who was not injured, was located at the scene.
During the investigation, a Roadside Screening Device was used, leading to further testing at the detachment.
Jason Cochrane, 39, of Deep River, was charged with impaired operation. His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. Cochrane is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 10, 2024.
