Peacefully at St. Patrick’s Home, Ottawa, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday August 2, 2024 at the age of 102 years. Gertude McParland (nee Troy) beloved wife of the late John McParland and by first marriage the late Charles Pybus. Loved and cherished mother of Larry Pybus, Cobden, Diane Best (Thain Paterson), Petawawa, David Pybus (Susan) Bewdley ON, Sheila Pybus, Vancouver BC, Stephen Pybus (Marlene), Gatineau, Barry Pybus, Oshawa, Jamie Pybus, Comox BC and Nancy Thrasher (Steve), Metcalfe ON. Sadly missed by her many
grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Last surviving child of the late Thomas and Freda (nee Doering) Troy. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gertrude with her family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday August 12th, 2 – 6 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday August 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery. In memory of Gertrude donations to St. Patrick’s Home, Ottawa would be appreciated.
