Emergency Preparedness Week begins today, marking over 25 years of annual observance. Running from May 5 to May 11, the event emphasizes the importance of readiness for emergencies. Pembroke Fire Chief Scott Selle sat down with myFM news to chat about the themes the federal government and provincial government have labeled this year.
Everyone should know the three steps to prepare yourself, step one is make a plan, step two is to build an emergency kit and step three is stay informed. Selle explains why the steps to prepare yourself for an emergency are important.

Selle encourages everyone to come out tonight to the Pembroke Fire Hall at 6 PM for an emergency preparedness event partnered with the Ontario SPCA. He adds that there will be many events that people are more than welcome to attend.
