A crowd in the hundreds flocked to downtown Pembroke on Saturday to mark another Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph. The crowd braved the cold to pay their respects to the hundreds of thousands of men and women in uniform who fought and died for our freedom in Canada. Laurentian Valley Mayor Steve Bennett tells myFM news that the service was heartwarming.
President of the Pembroke Legion Stan Halliday noted during his address that he was pleased to see many players taking part in the Silver Stick tournament make their way to the Cenotaph. Bennett stressed to myFM news the importance of never losing sight of the act of remembrance.
