A 19-year-old motorist is now facing charges following a thorough investigation by the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP into a driving complaint over the weekend.
On the night of September 16, 2023, at approximately 1:10 a.m., law enforcement received a report of a potentially impaired driver within the Township of Laurentian Valley. Responding officers promptly located both the vehicle and its operator, still in the township. During the course of their inquiry, a Roadside Screening Device was employed, leading to the driver’s subsequent transport to the detachment for further examination.
In light of the investigation’s findings, Jaedon Joseph Mathieu of Casselman, Ontario, now faces charges related to operating a vehicle while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80mg.
The accused has had their driving privileges suspended for a duration of 90 days. Additionally, their vehicle was towed and impounded for a period of seven days and will appear in court on the 17th of October.
