An expired driver’s licence or vehicle permit can get costly if you’re caught on the road with them.
Killaloe OPP tell myFM that they’ve seen an recent increase in traffic stops featuring expired licences and permits, and want to remind you that most of their police vehicles are equipped with Automatic Licence Plate Recognition.
In-car cameras can check a driver’s licence plate for issues such as expired documents and more at a glance and then notify the officer.
An unlicenced driver will face a fine of $325, and operating a vehicle without a currently validated permit is another $110 on top of that.
Our local police note that you can save yourself that headache by making sure that both are up to date, either by making a stop to your nearest Service Ontario Office or heading to the province’s website.
