It’s not the start to the weekend many were hoping for.
Environment Canada has put a Freezing Rain Warning in place for the Ottawa Valley as periods of snow are expected to taper off early this evening before another round of snow changing to rain late tonight and into Saturday morning.
They warn that several hours of freezing rain could be possible, leaving behind 2 to 4 millimeters of ice build up on untreated surfaces.
Surfaces like roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery, and the accumulating ice could cause tree branches to break.
