André Fortin will continue serving the Pontiac region.
Elections Quebec says that Fortin, the incumbent Liberal Party candidate, collected 43.68% percent of the vote during the October 3rd election, enough to keep the seat he’s held since 2014.
Pontiac was the only riding outside of the Montreal area that Liberal Party of Quebec took on the night, as CAQ leader François Legault will have a 90-seat majority to work with when the National Assembly of Quebec begins the new term.
Fortin and the Liberals will form the Official Opposition with 21 seats, having lost eight seats on Monday.
