The Pembroke Public Library will be hosting “Myths and Legends of the First Nations” on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m.
This program will highlight the rich culture of the Indigenous People of Canada with generations of sacred stories being told, including the story of the Three Sisters.
Anusha Arul who does programming and outreach for the Pembroke Public Library tells myFM that the event is hosted in recognition of National Truth and Reconciliation Day which is on September 30th.
Arul says the program hosted by the Algonquin Nations is open to all ages.
The library programmer says that those who attend the forty-five minute session will receive a special recipe to take home.
The event will run from 11:00-11:45 a.m. in the Reading Room at the Pembroke Public Library.
