There’s a crossroads transformation event on Saturday, August 20th, in the Golden Lake Community Centre. Cameron Montgomery, the Special Projects Coordinator for North-Algona-Wilberforce Township, says the event runs from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
Montgomery says it’s an opportunity to check out some of the renovations at the facility and adds everyone is welcome to come. Montgomery says they will have food from local restaurants, vendors and farms along with some art activities people can engage with.
A new mural painted by Sylvia Tennisco from Pikwakanagan First Nation will also be unveiled. Montgomery says they worked with Ottawa Valley Community Arts to get public engagement and feedback from the community for ideas for the mural.
The Crossroads Transformation event will be held in the Community Centre at the corner of Highway 60 and Lake Dore Road, behind the Post Office in Golden Lake.
If you’re planning to attend the Pow-Wow in Pikwakanagan, Montgomery says it’s a good opportunity to stop by.
The crossroads transformation event is possible thanks to main street grant funding from the Government of Canada.
