The new seats have been installed at Festival Hall in Pembroke. Chair of the Festival Hall Committee and Petawawa Councillor Murray Rutz says the seats and aisles are wider and more accessible.
He adds the new seats are bright red and provide a nice theater atmosphere, but he didn’t want to give away too many more details to spoil the grand opening reveal.
Rutz says they still have some finishing touches to do and the school board is also looking to paint the facility, but he adds the Festival Hall Committee is starting to plan an open house.
Rutz says they are looking at hosting an open house sometime in September or October for everyone to view the newly renovated facility at Festival Hall in Pembroke.
The seat campaign launched on December 2nd of 2021 and received significant financial contributions from the community, businesses and local service groups, helping the campaign wrap up in seven months with $200,000 raised.
The Kiwanis Club of Pembroke made a $53,000 donation and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) also made a $10,000 donation to the campaign.
