It’s a unique opportunity to experience some first-hand history, as the 70th anniversary of Atomic Energy of Canada is being celebrated at Canadian Nuclear Laboratory’s Chalk River campus Saturday August 6th.
That’s spokesperson Phil Kompass, who says these public events are rare.
There was one in 2012, and a second in 2017.
Kompass says there will be a lot of highway traffic in the vicinity on the special day.
Kompass says not only the history of the facility will be celebrated, there will be lab tours and a look to the future with small modular reactor discussions.
There will be kids activities and amenities that will allow you to make a day of it.
While admission is free, a satisfactory review of your registration data will assure your admission.
Registration for the Open House is currently live at CNL.ca
