Oliver Jacob is hoping to become the youngest Liberal elected in the riding since the 1975 Provincial Election, and over the weekend he took the first step, by being acclaimed as the Grit candidate for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke in the June 2nd Provincial Election.
In his press release, Jacob, who is a sitting McNab-Braeside councillor, stresses his role as a youth activist and his involvement in a number of community projects- including the Greater Arnprior Community Council on Poverty and Homelessness.
He has volunteered his time with a number of charitable and community organizations, as well as employment opportunities with the Town of Arnprior and the Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark.
Oliver Jacob attended Acadia University in Nova Scotia, emerging with a double major in History and Politics.
He believes in strong, progressive government with a rural focus.
Jacob will be running against incumbent PC John Yakabuski, Kurt Stoll of the NDP, Green Party nominee Anna Dolan, the New Blue’s Thomas O’Connor and Kade Macwilliams of the Ontario Party.
