Brothers Asher and Elliot are super-excited to come to the Tadpole Camp this summer at Camp Lau-Ren.
Camp Lau-Ren near Deep River is getting ready for the 2022 season. Last month, the summer camp was facing a staffing crisis that almost forced them to stay closed. Executive Director Joanne Hartnett tells myFM they were able to hire enough staff to operate this year. The first camp day is set for June 30th for tadpole camp for six to eight year olds who have never been to camp before.
She adds they are still looking to hire one camp councillor, one lifeguard and one cook with training beginning at the end of May.
Hartnett says the summer camp offers a wide variety of programming and those who attend will get something new every week. Camp Lau-Ren is hosting an Open House on June 18th from 11:00am to 2:00pm for those who may be interested in attending this year or learning more information.
Camp Lau-Ren is located at 210 Lau-Ren Road, 10 km West of Deep River, on the shores of the Ottawa River.
