Provincial police are investigating several incidents in Petawawa, including damage to Halloween displays and a confrontation involving people travelling in a sport utility vehicle.
The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says the incidents occurred on Oct. 16.
At about 7:30 p.m., a white sedan was observed driving unsafely on Selkirk Avenue, nearly striking a pedestrian.
Shortly after 11 p.m., three people in a dark-coloured SUV were observed in the area of Morning Star Street, where several local Halloween displays were damaged.
At about 11:15 p.m., three people in a grey SUV were involved in a verbal altercation with a person walking on Highland Park Drive. Police say the SUV followed the pedestrian for several minutes as the altercation continued.
Police also received reports of damage to several items and displays along the Laurentian Valley trail that same night.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incidents to come forward. Police are particularly interested in home or business security video and dashcam footage that may have captured the events.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP at 613-732-3332 or Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
